ProCalV5 SAP Integration
Overview
Leveraging the power of the ProCalV5 DataExchange interface, the SAP-ProCalV5 integration system will allow a variety of business processes to pass between SAP and the ProCalV5 software solution.
Interface Architecture
Data flow of information can be one way or bi-directional between ProCalV5 and SAP. All staging tables and functions of DataExchange are exposed as interoperable SOAP web services to the SAP-DataExchange Interface, which provides translation of data available in SAP. Data pulled from DataExchange output tables is translated back to SAP data using Microsoft .NET technologies.

Flexibility of Business Process Design
The SAP-ProCalV5 Interface allows multiple configurable methods for two-way communication between the two systems. This can be implementation as an automated trigger-based method or as a process run on a schedule.
SAP as Master Data
In business scenarios where SAP owns control over entire records of ProCalV5-related data, or at least controls a portion of the record, the SAP-DataExchange Interface module can take the data commands generated by SAP and translate them into data inserts, updates and/or deletions against the ProCalV5 database. The DataExchange server-side options allow this configuration of what to process and what to ignore to guide the processing of applicable SAP data into the ProCalV5 system in a consistent way. This allows the SAP-DataExchange Interface to map all potential data, and allows DataExchange to restrict which fields are actually owned by SAP and which should be augmented only in ProCalV5. See Figure 2 for an example of the data flow from SAP to ProCalV5.

ProCalV5 as Master Data
There also may be business scenarios in which the SAP system is simply providing a viewpoint into the lower-level master data controlled within the ProCalV5 system. The SAP-DataExchange Interface layer, both on demand (user-triggered) or on a schedule (scheduling agent-triggered), can query for data changes from the DataExchange output tables and parse this data into the applicable pieces to that particular SAP system. For immediate processing, optional database triggers on DataExchange outputs can be connected to the SAP-DataExchange Interface layer for notification of new data inserts, updates, and/or deletions from within the ProCalV5 system.
In both scenarios, the SAP-DataExchange Interface layer provides the transformation of data going from SAP to ProCalV5 and vice versa. This layer can be configured to match the needs of your specific business process. See Figure 3 for an example of the data flow from ProCalV5 to SAP.
